Tutorial#4: Power Clip in CorelDraw

Hello there!. Our next step by step tutorial will teach you how to use the PowerClip in CorelDraw.

PowerClip is an effect in CorelDraw that use to place vector objects and bitmaps, such as photos inside other objects, or containers. A container can be any object, for example, artistic text (it can be your name), a circle, triangle, or rectangle (or any shape). When you place an object into a container that is larger than the container, the object, called

the content, is cropped to fit the form of the container. This creates a PowerClip object.

If you want to place your photo inside an artistic text, here’s how:

step by step procedure

1. Import your photo  (the content). Go to File>Import

2. Type “PINOY AKO”  or YOUR NAME  (the container) [font size = at least 160 pts)

3. Select your photo (using the pick tool, click on your photo to select it)

4. Click Effects > PowerClip > Place inside container

5. Click on the text (it will serve as your container).

The result should be like this.

In the PowerClip object, the artistic text is the container, and the bitmap forms the contents. The bitmap is shaped to the letters of the artistic text.

That’s all for today. I hope you like it :-) .

PS:  Constructive criticisms and other useful suggestions are welcome :-) Thanks.

Pinoy version:
